Mulled Apple Cider

Hot apple cider infused with spices and whiskey, rum, or brandy is a perfect warming cocktail for chilly nights.

Ingredients:

6 cups unfiltered apple cider

2 whole star anise pods

2 whole cinnamon sticks

6 ounces of whiskey, rum, or brandy

Thinly sliced apple for garnish

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients but the booze in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until just simmering. Cover, remove from the heat, and let steep for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the spices (reserve for garnishing) and return the mixture to a simmer. Add the booze and let the mixture heat through completely.
  3. Pour into mugs and garnish with apple slices and reserved spices.
