FoodPrints School Year 20-21

As students are learning from home, we continue to provide customized food and garden education for our partner school communities through six program areas.

Live Classes

Through live classes, we continue to cook, garden, read and support science instruction with students and families at many of our partner schools.

Instructional Videos

We are producing a series of videos based on our curriculum that focus on cooking, nutrition, and garden science investigations. Videos will be available for use in our partner schools and beyond.

Immersive Food Education for At-risk Students

This program combines live virtual FoodPrints programming with increased food access through home deliveries of produce and supplies.

Online Learning Materials

We are building out our FoodPrints Anywhere materials for families to use at home and continuing online videos that help families explore plant science, and cook and read together.

Garden Care and Cultivation

We are maintaining our edible school gardens and cultivating several to produce food for families in need.

Completion of Our Standards-based Curriculum

In early 2021, our full curriculum of 63 lessons for PreK through 5th grade will be available in full, online for wide use, along with training for teachers.

Community Food Education

We are hiring and training parents to become Community Food Educators to provide food education for families in child care centers in Wards 7 & 8 who access fresh food from FRESHFARM.
