FRESHFARM Employment Positions

Bilingual Market Champion (English & Chinese)

FRESHFARM is hiring a Bilingual Market Champion to join our Food Access team – if you speak Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese), we want to work with you! Market Champions work at farmer’s markets and community sites to support participants using food access programs, and also remotely staff our customer support hotline. Our ideal Champions are actively connected to local communities using food access programs (such Produce Plus and Senior FMNP) and/or have experience with these programs themself. This is a seasonal, part-time role expected to work between 15 – 30 hours per week on weekdays and weekends.

Market Staff & Operators – Various Locations

Market Operators are the face of FRESHFARM at markets. They play a key role in the success and growth of markets and work as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Market Operators are assigned to one or more of our 20+ markets. We are currently hiring Market Operators for our Cleveland Park (Saturday) & Mosaic (Sunday) farmers markets, and Market Staff for our Columbia Heights (Wednesday), By the White House (Thursday), and Mosaic (Sunday) farmers markets. In addition to at-market duties, Market Operators also take on additional administrative duties. This position is a member of the Bargaining Unit represented by UFCW Local 400.

Successful candidates will be creative problem solvers, clear communicators, collaborative team members, and passionate about creating inclusive community spaces all about regional, accessible, fresh food. Previous experience in customer service, retail, food & agriculture, or foreign language aptitude, specifically Spanish, is a plus, but not required.

Tae-Gu Kimchi – Market Operations Lead

Tae-Gu Kimchi is hiring a part-time Market Operations Lead to transport and set up booth equipment, pack cooler bags, and pick up supplies for farmers markets across the DMV. The schedule spans Wednesday afternoons, select Thursday slots, early Saturday mornings through midday, and early Sunday mornings. Pay is $20/hour plus a daily reliability bonus for strong performance. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift equipment, and be dependable, punctual, and comfortable working early mornings on their own. Madison Mushrooms – Farmers Market Sales Team Member

Madison Mushrooms is seeking market staff to operate a Sunday-only farmers market stand in DC. Responsibilities include: Equipment and inventory pick up from DC, setting up and running the stand, engaging with customers, breaking down the stand, and returning equipment and inventory in DC. Typical shift hours are: 8AM to 1:30PM but could shift slightly depending on the day. The role is best suited for someone with an interest in mushrooms and someone who has their own car to facilitate pick up and drop off of equipment and inventory, though owning a car is not a requirement.
